OXFORD, Miss. \u2014 The Student Activities Association has canceled the annual spring concert in the Grove due to current weather conditions and the threat of inclement weather throughout the day on Sunday, April 30.<\/p>\n
The decision was made after consulting with university officials and event personnel after taking into consideration current weather conditions and the continued threat of severe weather forecast by the National Weather Service throughout the afternoon on Sunday.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhile we were excited about having Gucci Mane and Mix Master Mike in the Grove this afternoon, our primary concern is the safety of our students, concert attendees, the artists and event staff,\u201d said Brady Ruffin, Director of the Student Activities Association. \u201cWe have been looking forward to a great show, but with the threat of flash flooding and potential for tornadoes this afternoon, we decided to do what is best for everyone involved.\u201d<\/p>\n
