\"noel-wilkin.jpg\"OXFORD, Miss. – Noel E. Wilkin, interim associate provost
\nand associate professor of pharmacy administration at the
\nUniversity of Mississippi, has been named a Fellow of the
\nAmerican Pharmacists Association.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

\nThe designation is reserved for members of either the APhA
\nAcademy of Pharmacy Practice and Management or the APhA
\nAcademy of Pharmaceutical Research and Science who have at
\nleast 10 years of professional experience and who
\ndemonstrate exemplary service and professional
\nachievements.
\n<\/span>\n<\/p>\n


“Dr. Wilkin’s contributions within his discipline have
\nserved to improve the quality of care delivered to
\npatients, improve cost-effective therapy and advance
\nentrepreneurship in pharmacy,” said Barbara G. Wells, dean
\nof the School of Pharmacy. “He is a selfless servant leader
\nwho derives great satisfaction from helping others be
\nsuccessful. He is exquisitely deserving of this high
\nhonor.”
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

\nWilkin is the third pharmacy school faculty member to hold
\nthis distinction in the Academy of Pharmaceutical Research
\nand Science. He joins Walter G. Chambliss, professor of
\npharmaceutics and the university’s director of technology
\nmanagement, and Mickey C. Smith, F.A.P. Barnard
\nDistinguished Professor Emeritus of Pharmacy
\nAdministration.
\n<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\nIn January, Wilkin was named interim associate provost and
\nis charged with assisting with the university’s efforts in
\nstrategic planning, enrollment and academic affairs. He
\npreviously served as chair of the Department of Pharmacy
\nAdministration and director of the Center for
\nPharmaceutical Marketing and Management.
\n<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\nHe received the pharmacy school’s Pharmaceutical Science
\nTeaching Award in 2004, 2006 and 2007. He also serves on
\nseveral university, community and pharmacy school
\ncommittees. In 2004, he was chosen as a member of the
\ninaugural class of the Academic Leadership Fellows Program
\nwith the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy.
