OXFORD, Miss. – Medical Marketing Economics LLC, a
\nconsulting group based in Oxford, has committed $350,000 to
\nsupport the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

\n“Faculty, staff and students of the School of Pharmacy are
\ngrateful for the generous support of Dr. Kolassa and the
\nMME partners,” pharmacy Dean Barbara Wells said. “This gift
\nwill make a meaningful difference for both graduate and
\nprofessional students and their faculty. MME provides a
\nwonderful example for us all – alumni, businesses, faculty
\nand staff – to emulate. These forward-looking,
\ncommunity-minded individuals believe in the importance of
\nsupporting the school to ensure that we can provide the
\nbest education possible.”
\n<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\nThe gift will support the pharmacy school in three
\ndifferent ways: $150,000 will create and endow the MME
\nFellowship in Pharmacy Administration; another $150,000
\nwill create a general fund to support the school; and the
\nremaining amount will support the Science Library in the
\nThad Cochran Research Center.
\n<\/span>\n<\/p>\n


“Our company, MME, wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for the
\nOle Miss School of Pharmacy,” said E.M. “Mick” Kolassa, CEO
\nand managing partner of MME who holds a Ph.D. in pharmacy
\nfrom Ole Miss. “It is where many of us met, the source of
\nmany of our employees and a major source of pride for all
\nof us. We see this gift as a way for us to give back.”
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

\nMME works with pharmaceutical and other health care-related
\ncompanies to develop marketing strategies and conduct
\nproduct research. Of MME’s seven partners, four hold
\ndegrees from UM’s School of Pharmacy. The company also has
\nan office in Montclair, N.J.
\n<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\nMME’s gift is part of the university’s MomentUM campaign, a
\nfour-year initiative to raise $200 million. The MomentUM
\ncampaign, which ends in December 2008, already has raised
\nmore than $180 million for scholarships, graduate
\nfellowships, faculty support, a basketball practice
\nfacility, residential colleges and a new law school on the
\nOxford campus. Also in the plans are a cancer center at the
\nUM Medical Center and a new building to house the School of
\nPharmacy, both in Jackson.
