Submitted photo<\/p><\/div>\n<p>OXFORD, Miss. \u2013 The <a href=\"https:\/\/pharmacy.olemiss.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy<\/a> will host pharmacy showcases across the state this spring to educate aspiring pharmacists about the more than 600 career paths available in the field of pharmacy.<\/p>\n<p>The pharmacy showcase events, sponsored in part by Walgreens Diversity Initiative, are designed to be meet-and-greets with the School of Pharmacy&#8217;s dean, faculty, staff and students, as well as with pharmacy practitioners from different areas of practice.<\/p>\n<p>Attendees also can participate in hands-on activities such as compounding lip balm. High school and college students, parents, alumni and counselors are all welcome.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are very excited to talk to prospective students and their families across the state about the possibilities of pharmacy and&nbsp;their interest in healthcare,&#8221; said David D. Allen, UM pharmacy dean. &#8220;Pharmacy is a great career path for students who want to make a real difference in the health of their communities.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Attendees can choose from three locations:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Oxford, The Inn at Ole Miss, 6-8 p.m. March 8<\/li>\n<li>Jackson, Mississippi Agriculture and Forestry Museum, 6-8 p.m. April 3<\/li>\n<li>Biloxi, Biloxi Yacht Club, 6-8 p.m. April 26<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Each browse fair will feature free food for all, as well as free T-shirts for students.<\/p>\n<p>To register, visit <a href=\"http:\/\/pharmacy.olemiss.edu\/earlyentry\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">http:\/\/pharmacy.olemiss.edu\/earlyentry\/<\/a>.
