Dewey Knight, associate director of the Center for Student Success and First-Year Experience, has been selected as Staff Council’s Staff Member of the Month for December. To help us get to know him better, he answered a few questions for Inside Ole Miss.<\/p>\n

IOM:<\/strong> How long have you worked at Ole Miss?<\/p>\n

Knight:<\/strong> I came to Ole Miss as a freshman in the fall of 1966 \u2013 52 years ago. My current employment began 21\u00bd years ago<\/p>\n

IOM:<\/strong> What is your hometown?<\/p>\n

Knight:<\/strong> Oxford, Mississippi<\/p>\n

IOM:<\/strong> Talk about your favorite Ole Miss memory. <\/p>\n

Knight:<\/strong> I have so many fond memories. My receiving the Thomas F. Frist Student Service Award in 2012 was special.<\/p>\n

IOM:<\/strong> What do you enjoy most about your position or the department in which you work?<\/p>\n

Knight:<\/strong> Working with and teaching our students.<\/p>\n

IOM:<\/strong> What do you like to do when you are not at work?<\/p>\n

Knight:<\/strong> Spend time with family, including my dog, Little One.<\/p>\n

IOM:<\/strong> What is one thing on your bucket list?<\/p>\n

Knight:<\/strong> Visit the Holy Land<\/p>\n

IOM:<\/strong> What is your favorite movie?<\/p>\n

Knight:<\/strong> “Lawrence of Arabia”<\/p>\n

IOM:<\/strong> What is your favorite Ole Miss tradition?<\/p>\n

Knight:<\/strong> Groving<\/p>\n

IOM:<\/strong> What is a fun fact about you?<\/p>\n

Knight:<\/strong> I attended what were at the time both the longest college football game (Ole Miss vs. Arkansas) and the longest professional football game (Houston Oilers vs. Dallas Texans in the old AFL).<\/p>\n

IOM:<\/strong> If you could have lunch with anyone alive or dead\/fictional or real, who would it be and why?<\/p>\n

Knight:<\/strong> St. Paul, because he changed the history of Western civilization.<\/p>\n

IOM:<\/strong> What are three words you would use to describe yourself?<\/p>\n

Knight:<\/strong> Seeker of the truth<\/p>\n

IOM:<\/strong> If you could visit one time or place in world history (past, present or future), what would it be?<\/p>\n

Knight:<\/strong> Raising of the American flag by the Marines on Iwo Jima during World War II<\/p>\n

IOM:<\/strong> If I could be an animal for a day I would be _____.<\/p>\n

Knight:<\/strong> My dog<\/p>\n
