Seena Haines<\/p><\/div>\n

OXFORD, Miss. \u2013 Two faculty members in the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy<\/a> were honored for their service to the pharmacy profession at the recent American Society of Health-System Pharmacists<\/a> Midyear Clinical Meeting in Anaheim, California.<\/p>\n

Seena Haines, chair and professor of pharmacy practice<\/a>, received the Distinguished Service Award for her work in ASHP’s Section of Ambulatory Care Practitioners. Joshua Fleming, clinical associate professor of pharmacy practice, earned the New Practitioners Forum Distinguished Service Award.<\/p>\n

Haines is a past chair, director-at-large and current member of ASHP’s Section Advisory Groups on Clinical Practice Advancement, as well as Compensation and Practice Sustainability. She also serves as the organization’s vice chair of the Council on Education and Workforce Development and as a faculty member for the Ambulatory Care Board Review Course.<\/p>\n

“I am truly humbled and honored to be receive this award from my community of dear colleagues and friends in the section of ambulatory care practitioners,” Haines said. “Mahatma Gandhi said, ‘The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.’ ASHP has been and remains an organizational home where I have been fortunate to serve in diverse roles.<\/p>\n

“This association has influenced my personal and professional growth through sparking action, transmitting values, fostering collaboration, sharing knowledge and leading a diverse and inclusive workforce into the future of pharmacy practice by overcoming obstacles together. Plus, a special thanks to my husband, Stuart, and son, Ian, who support me in my organizational engagement.”<\/p>\n

Joshua Fleming<\/p><\/div>\n

Fleming’s service to ASHP includes time as chair and vice chair of the New Practitioners Forum. He represented Mississippi in the House of Delegates and was a member of the Joint Sections and Forums Practice Advancement Initiatives Committee.<\/p>\n

“I am appreciative of ASHP for taking the effort to recognize its highly involved members in this special way,” Fleming said. “Much of my service to the organization has happened after hours, meaning time away from my family, so this award is more of a recognition to my friends, family and colleagues for letting me serve the organization.<\/p>\n
