Photo by Thomas Graning\/Ole Miss Digital Imaging Services<\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"margin-top: 0in;\">OXFORD, Miss. \u2013 Hoping to understand and replicate the <a href=\"https:\/\/olemiss.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">University of Mississippi&#8217;s<\/a> football program, a delegation from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kobegakuin.ac.jp\/english\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kobe Gakuin University<\/a> in Japan has been meeting Rebel players and observing scrimmages on campus this week.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-top: 0in; text-align: start;\">Three student athletes and three administrators representing the Navy Seals, KGU&#8217;s American football club, arrived Monday (March 18) for three days of meetings with UM <a href=\"https:\/\/olemisssports.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">athletics <\/a>staff and student-athletes. Activities included a tour of the <span style=\"color: black; background: white;\">Olivia and Archie Manning Athletics Performance Center<\/span> and observations of warm-ups, strength and conditioning workouts and team practices.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-top: 0in; text-align: start;\">&#8220;Everything has been going very well,&#8221; said Shota Fujimoto, a third-year student in KGU&#8217;s humanities and sciences program. &#8220;We are learning a lot of information, which I&#8217;m sure will be useful to our football program at home.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-top: 0in; text-align: start;\">Takuya Myamoto, a third-year student in contemporary social studies, said he&#8217;d heard good things about UM and its football program even before the international partnership agreement between the two universities was signed last March.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-top: 0in; text-align: start;\">&#8220;The University of Mississippi has an international reputation as a strong academic institution,&#8221; he said. &#8220;Knowing that its football program is a leading team in the Southeastern Conference really made me want to come and see how they do what they do.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-top: 0in; text-align: start;\">Kobe Gakuin University opened in 1966 as a college offering just one course of study in nutrition.
