{"id":90046,"date":"2019-06-20T13:00:35","date_gmt":"2019-06-20T18:00:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/news.olemiss.edu\/?p=90046"},"modified":"2019-06-20T14:12:23","modified_gmt":"2019-06-20T19:12:23","slug":"um-ranks-best-mississippi-job-placement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/web20.olemiss.edu\/news\/wordpress\/um-ranks-best-mississippi-job-placement\/","title":{"rendered":"UM Ranks Best in Mississippi for Job Placement"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"margin-top: 0in;\">OXFORD, Miss. \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/olemiss.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">University of Mississippi<\/a> graduates are the best in the state at finding employment and keeping it, according to data from the U.S. Department of Education compiled in a new ranking from Zippia.com.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-top: 0in; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; orphans: 2; text-align: start; widows: 2; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; text-decoration-style: initial; text-decoration-color: initial; word-spacing: 0px;\">The ranking takes into account 10 years&#8217; worth of data on job placement rates by using the Department of Education&#8217;s &#8220;College Scorecard,&#8221; which is designed to help the public see &#8220;how well different schools are serving their students.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-top: 0in; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; orphans: 2; text-align: start; widows: 2; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; text-decoration-style: initial; text-decoration-color: initial; word-spacing: 0px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.zippia.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Zippia<\/a>, a career expert website, compiled the data and created a ranking that shows the best college in each state for finding a job.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-top: 0in; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; orphans: 2; text-align: start; widows: 2; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; text-decoration-style: initial; text-decoration-color: initial; word-spacing: 0px;\">The data shows that after 10 years, 91.42 percent of Ole Miss graduates are still employed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-top: 0in; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; orphans: 2; text-align: start; widows: 2; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; text-decoration-style: initial; text-decoration-color: initial; word-spacing: 0px;\">That&#8217;s not only the best percentage of all Mississippi schools, but it also tops a number of institutions across the country.
