Dale Bramlett<\/p><\/div>\n

Dale Bratton Bramlett, an administrative assistant in the Department of Health, Exercise Science and Recreation Management, has been selected as Staff Council’s Staff Member of the Month for September. To help us get to know her better, she answered a few questions for Inside Ole Miss.<\/p>\n

IOM: <\/strong>How long have you worked at Ole Miss? <\/p>\n

Bramlett:<\/strong> 14 years, all at HESRM<\/p>\n

IOM:<\/strong> What is your hometown? <\/p>\n

Bramlett:<\/strong> I’ve lived in Oxford for 62 of my 68 years. I moved all the way from the big town of Water Valley. <\/p>\n

IOM:<\/strong> Talk about your favorite Ole Miss memory. <\/p>\n

Bramlett:<\/strong> My favorite memory is UM-sponsored band camps and majorette camps I attended while in high school. It was my first Ole Miss experience, and I attended one or both camps each summer from seventh through 12th grade. <\/sup>UM was my first work experience, too. I answered the phone for free registration and housing at majorette camps.<\/p>\n

IOM:<\/strong> What do you enjoy most about your position or the department in which you work? <\/p>\n

Bramlett:<\/strong> I enjoy pushing the paperwork. The job shifts and morphs daily, plus faculty and students bring enough challenges every day to keep the “ordinary” at bay. <\/p>\n

IOM:<\/strong> What do you like to do when you are not at work? <\/p>\n

Bramlett:<\/strong> Arts and crafts. I love to make doodads and dust collectors for my family and friends. <\/p>\n

IOM:<\/strong> What is one thing on your bucket list? <\/p>\n

Bramlett:<\/strong> Retirement, and it’s just around the corner in 2020.<\/p>\n

IOM:<\/strong> What is your favorite movie? <\/p>\n

Bramlett:<\/strong> Too difficult to pick. I like a lot of old, old movies \u2026 “It Happened One Night,” “The Quiet Man,” “Mother Goose,” “Some Like It Hot.” They are all favorites. <\/p>\n

IOM:<\/strong> What is a fun fact about you?<\/p>\n

Bramlett:<\/strong> I spent my first 25-cent allowance, in 1956, on salt-and-pepper shakers, and I’m still collecting them.<\/p>\n

IOM:<\/strong> If you could have lunch with anyone, alive or dead\/fictional or real, who would it be and why?<\/p>\n

Bramlett:<\/strong> I would love to say someone that would make me seem worldly and intelligent like Winston Churchill or Bill Gates, but I’ve got to say Tom Selleck. I mean, just look at the guy! <\/p>\n

IOM:<\/strong> What are three words you would use to describe yourself?<\/p>\n

Bramlett:<\/strong> Funny, sentimental, stubborn<\/p>\n

IOM:<\/strong> If you could visit one time or place in world history (past, present or future), what would it be?<\/p>\n

Bramlett:<\/strong> I would go back many years to a family reunion to have one more day with family who have passed on. We were a big, close, loving family. <\/p>\n

IOM:<\/strong> If I could be an animal for a day I would be _____. <\/p>\n

Bramlett:<\/strong> My grand dog, Miss Charley. She has her human family trained to cater to her every whim. She barks, we jump. She sleeps all day and is petted on command. I want to be a pampered, diva Yorkie like Charley. <\/p>\n
